Yasuo Takahashi is working as a research manager in the Biodiversity and Forest team at Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), Japan. His research interest is in socio-ecological system management, landscape ecology and ecosystem services mainly from social science approaches. He contributed to the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) Asia-Pacific Regional Assessment as a fellow, and to the IPBES Global Assessment as a contributing author. He served as a field conservation practitioner in different parts of the world, including Africa and Japan, before he joined IGES.
