Dr Uday Chatterjee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography, Bhatter College, Dantan, affiliated with Vidyasagar University, West Bengal, India. He earned his Doctoral Degree in Applied Geography from Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, Odisha. His research interests encompass Urban Planning, Social and Human Geography, Applied Geomorphology, Indigenous knowledge and Hazards and Disasters, Risk Assessment and Resilience, Community Response and Environmental Issues. Dr Chatterjee has been actively involved in editing scholarly works, including the Special Issue on Urbanism, Smart Cities and Modelling for GeoJournal (Springer), Special Issue in Global Social Welfare (Springer), Frontiers in Environmental Science Journal, Geological Journal (Wiley), and Editorial Board Member of Scientific Report (Nature Portfolio) Journal. His extensive research and editorial contributions highlight his commitment to advancing geographical knowledge and its applications. Notably, his research work has been funded by the West Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBPCB), Govt. of West Bengal, India and the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Govt. of India.

Moreover, he has served as a Book Series Editor for “Sustainability Solutions: An Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Nexus”, Springer Nature (https://www.springer.com/series/59999). He has published research papers in reputable journals, edited books with reputable publishers such as Springer, Elsevier and CRC Press, and authored books, book chapters and conference proceedings. Currently, Dr Chatterjee has completed an international project, in collaboration with Indonesia, Malaysia and Japan, funded by APN (Asia Pacific Network for Global Change Research, Grant DOI https://doi.org/10.30852/p.22128) and visited Saudi Arabia for international collaboration and to chair a conference session. He was also a Visiting Professor at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan.
