Dr Shizuka Hashimoto is an associate professor at the Department of Ecosystem Studies, Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, the University of Tokyo. He has more than ten years of experience in ecosystem services evaluation and scenario analysis. He is a member of the Science Council of Japan (2020-). At the international level, he contributed to the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) Global Assessment and the Asia-Pacific Regional Assessment as a Lead Author, and IPCC-IPBES Co-sponsored workshop report as a Scientific Steering Committee member. Since 2018, he has served as one of the Multidisciplinary Expert Panel members of IPBES and a co-chair of the Task Force on Scenarios and Models.
