Dr Saeed A. Asad is working as an Associate Professor at the Center for Climate Research and Development (CCRD), COMSATS University Islamabad, Pakistan. He also holds the prestigious position of member of the board of directors of the Pakistan Agricultural Scientists Forum to recognize his scientific contributions. Due to his outstanding research achievements, Dr Asad is a regular recipient of the research productivity award jointly conferred by the COMSATS University Islamabad and Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt of Pakistan. Along with outstanding academic research, Dr Asad has also earned a rich experience of working with development organizations, international NGOs, and prestigious institutes working on the water-energy-food nexus. From 2015-17, Asad served as a lead consultant with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) on a project titled” The Vulnerability of Pakistan’s water sector to the impacts of climate change: Identification of gaps and recommendations for actions”. Afterwards, he served as a coordinator for South Asia in a project “Sustainable Food Systems Under Climate Change in South Asia” funded by the Government of Germany (2017-2020). Asad earned his PhD degree in the Agricultural and Environmental Sciences from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom. His research on food security has attracted funding from numerous national and international donors.
