Rex Victor O. Cruz

Dr Rex Victor O. Cruz is a renowned expert in watershed management and climate change adaptation. Dr Cruz has a PhD in Watershed Management and is a Professor Emeritus at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) College of Forestry and Natural Resources (CFNR). He is also an Academician at the National Academy of Science and Technology Philippines, People Survival Fund Board member and National Innovation Council executive member. He was a former Chancellor of UPLB, former Dean of the CFNR and the former Director of the Forestry Development Center. He was a member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) of the United Nations that won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize with former US Vice President Al Gore. He served as a principal lead author and convening lead author of the Assessment of Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Second, Third and Fourth Assessment Reports. His expertise and research interests include ecosystem and landscape planning and management, upland development, and integrated natural resources management.
