Nuraini Rahma Hanifa

National Research and Innovation Agency

Dr Nuraini Rahma Hanifa works with the Research Center for Geological Disaster, Research Organization of Earth Sciences and Maritime, National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), previously known as the Indonesia Institute of Sciences (LIPI). She graduated with a bachelor’s and master from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) Indonesia and received a Doctor of Science from Nagoya University, Japan. She conducts several interdisciplinary research on Geodesy and Geomatics, Earthquake, Tsunami, and Disaster Risk Reduction, engages in community services to build disaster resilience, and bridges sciences to action and policy. Rahma founded U-INSPIRE Alliance – a youth and young professional platform on Science, Engineering, Technology and Innovation for disaster and climate resilience currently in 14 country chapters. She has been an appointed young scientist representative in the Asia Pacific Science, Technology and Academia Advisory Group (AP-STAG) of UNDRR and received the 2021 winner of the WIN DRR Leadership Award for her work as a Rising Star in the field of disaster risk reduction.
