K.B. Shameen N. Jinadasa is a Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya. His research greatly involves the development of sustainable water and wastewater management technologies, biological wastewater treatment methods for industrial wastewaters, and innovative methodologies in environmental protection, and constructed wetlands for water quality management in tropical regions. He is a member of the Sri Lanka Association for The Advancement of Science. He has established various international research collaborations with China, Norway, Netherlands, Singapore, Japan, and Australia. He is also actively involved with the process, environmental and design advisory in water and wastewater treatment plants.
