Ms Joy Santiago is a licensed environmental planner and the only female Chief Science Research Specialist at the University of the Philippines Resilience Institute. She also serves as the Director of Internal Audit Division of the Centre for Neighbourhood Studies Philippines and a lecturer at Miriam College specializing in spatial analysis and cartography using geographic information systems. Ms Santiago served as a fellow at the American Geoscience Union Thriving Earth Exchange Program and the International Visitors Leaders Program for Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management. She is a recipient of the European Geosciences Union Outstanding Student Poster and PICO Award in 2016 for their team’s study on the Development of Storm Surge Hazard Maps and Advisory System for the Philippines.
