Dr. Gad Levy is a Senior Scientist at NorthWest Research Associates, USA. He holds a PhD in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Washington (UW), and is Certified Consulting Meteorologist (CCM) by the AMS. His research involves Remote Sensing; Satellite meteorology; Data assimilation, mining and modeling; Weather and climate dynamics and prediction. He held appointments at UW, OSU, U. Phoenix, the Boeing company, the Chinese Academy of Science (senior visiting professor), French Institute for Marine Research (IFREMER, Visiting Scientist). He served on the steering committee of the US Climate Variability and Predictability Program (CLIVAR) – one of four core projects of the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP), as panelist and co-chair of USCLIVAR Process Studies and Model Improvement panel, and on numerous other national and international panels. Recipient of Pan Ocean Remote Sensing (PORSEC) association distinguished service award (2008), he currently serves as PORSEC’s president, co-editor of PORSEC special issue of International Journal of Remote Sensing, PORSEC Association bulletin, and MDPI Journal “Remote Sensing”.
