Prof Aidy M Muslim is a full professor at the Institute of Oceanography and Environment, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Malaysia. He started his career as a researcher at the Malaysia Centre for Remote Sensing in 1995. He obtained his PhD in Remote Sensing from the University of Southampton in 2004. During this period, he was involved in various national committees involving project development and strategic planning and represented the Malaysian Government in various international meetings. He has conducted various research on the application of space technology and data management, especially in remote sensing, GIS and related technologies. His projects involve all sectors of national resources, environmental and disaster management, and strategic planning. Currently, his research is looking at multispectral sensors and UAV technology and how to adapt them to map benthic habitats and the coastal zone.
