Envisioning Earth Intelligence Across Boundaries: Accelerating Impact in Asia-Oceania Region

The 17th AOGEO Symposium will explore how the Asia-Oceania region can successfully create and utilise Earth Intelligence from Earth Observation data to address regional challenges. The outcomes and findings of the 17th AOGEO Symposium will be compiled into an AOGEO Statement, reported to the Principals in the AOGEO Caucus, and shared widely with the global GEO community.

Key objectives

  • Recognise regional challenges. Recognise regional challenges and identify key elements—such as skills and capabilities, technologies and tools, and institutional systems and frameworks—to effectively address them through Earth Observations, envisioning the creation and utilisation of Earth Intelligence.
  • Affirm the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration. Affirm the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration in tackling the complex challenges in the Asia-Oceania region and promote such cooperation.
  • Formulate and deliver recommendations. Formulate and deliver recommendations from the AOGEO community to GEO to implement the GEO Post-2025 Strategy and to advance the creation of Earth Intelligence
