RApid Metabolome Extraction and Storage (RAMES) Workshop, 18 May 2023
RAMES Workshop as part or International Conference conducted at Eka Karya Botanical Garden, Bali, Indonesia on May 18th, 2023. This Workshop was conducted to introduce RAMES technology. RApid Metabolome Extraction and Storage (RAMES) technology is an innovative, simple, rapid, low-cost and miniaturized technology to prepare plant extracts for functional assays, as well to catalogue and preserve the metabolome of plants and other living organisms. RAMES technology is fully adapted to field conditions, where the access to lab tools, electricity and supplies may be limited, as it requires only a car or solar battery to operate. This technology also offers an ethical and sustainable alternative to the conventional collection of plant extracts, since sampling requires only 2 g of fresh tissue. This means that collections can be completed without seriously damaging any plants.
The workshop participants consist of 5 experts, 5 mentors, and 15-20 trainees. The trainees can be students or young scientists from Indonesia.
