The green economy has emerged as an inevitable development trend in the context of climate change and the growing demand for sustainable growth. Green economy models in rural tourism areas contribute to environmental protection, emission reduction, landscape conservation, and the creation of sustainable livelihoods for local residents engaged in tourism activities. Tan Cuong commune, Thai Nguyen province, located approximately 10 km southwest of the provincial center, has been designated by the Thai Nguyen Provincial’s People Committee as a key tea-growing area linked to sustainable rural tourism development. This study was conducted through a survey of 200 households participating in rural tourism activities year 2026. The results indicate that local residents involved in tourism have a moderate level of understanding of the green economy model in rural tourism. The study also proposes four solutions to enhance awareness and facilitate the development of green economy models in rural tourism.
