Special issue on climate impacts, vulnerability and adaptation

APN encourages activities that support its policy and communications/ outreach agendas in its Fourth Strategic Plan (2015-2020). This includes interaction and activities related to the IPCC process, the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement. In line with this mandate, APN aims to enhance the contribution of Asia-Pacific activities and their outputs in international processes. The purpose of the activity is to increase the visibility and impact of APN products by compiling and publishing the outputs of APN supported projects into a Special Issue for Elsevier. The proposal was developed as an outcome of a workshop of an ongoing APN project, which engages early-career scientists in the IPCC. This activity may be an opportunity to alert Lead Authors of IPCC AR6 (Chapter 10 / Working Group II) for pick-up and citation in the assessment report. The special issue will be titled “Climate Change Impacts, Vulnerability and Adaptation: Asian Perspective” and will contain up to 20 journal papers from projects funds by APN. Four Elsevier journals will be targeted: Environmental Research (Publisher: Elsevier, Impact Factor: 5.025); Global Environmental Change (Publisher: Elsevier, Impact Factor: 6.371); Futures (Publisher: Elsevier, Impact Factor: 2.214); Environmental International (Publisher: Elsevier, Impact Factor: 7.297).
