International Training on Regional Ecosystem-Climate Interactions

This project is designed to organize a two-week training on regional ecosystem-climate interactions including climate change impacts and feedbacks for young scholars from monsoon Asia countries in September 2014. The training will address various scientific aspects of regional ecosystem-climate interactions and climate change, including multi-platform observation, trends and impacts analysis, and ecosystem-climate modeling. The curriculum comprises formal lectures, modelling practices, presentation and dialogues, along with site visits and excursions in research facilities and field stations. The training will also include a special session that encompasses science-policy interactions and communications of science to policy. As follow-up, online forum will be established after the training, and a report from the participant dialogue will be published online. Young researchers will be encouraged also to report back to TEA and APN how they applied the knowledge they gained in the training in their own research fields and published the results of the research accordingly.
