This project synthesised existing knowledge on pastoral land use and cover change (LUCC), identification of knowledge gaps and vulnerability of the regions to global change. It also reviewed integrated assessments of land use/cover change and climate change impacts on rangeland ecosystems and pastoral systems and potential adaptation strategies and enhanced modalities for capacity building and networking among scientists involved in research on pastoral LUCC studies in the region, and developing synergies for future collaboration.
