Dr. Vo Si Tuan is a senior scientist at the Institute of Oceanography, Nha Trang City, Vietnam. He is recognised for his expertise in coastal and marine ecology and conservation planning. He has more than 30 years’ experience in marine research and teaching and is responsible for coordinating more than 20 projects at the provincial, national and regional levels. Dr. Vo has extensive experience in the science and management of protected areas for marine conservation and sustainable use. He was previously the director of the Institute of Oceanography, Vietnam and has collaborated with national and international organisations on marine ecosystems, biodiversity conservation and protected area management.
