Dr Mukul’s research interest intersects the complex interactions between ecological, socio-economic and policy aspects of forest management and biodiversity conservation in the tropics. He has been working as a researcher and consultant in the area of natural resources and environmental management for more than a decade now. Dr Mukul completed his PhD in Environmental Management from The University of Queensland, Australia, M.Sc. in Agricultural Development from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark and M.Sc. in Tropical Forestry & Management from Technische Universität Dresden, Germany.
Dr Mukul published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals and books, and on the editorial board of five international journals. His research has been featured in top international news outlets, including The New York Times, CNN, Smithsonian Magazine, and Mongabay.com. He is also a core member of the ALERT (Alliance of Leading Environmental Researchers & Thinkers), a global scientific organization that helps world-class researchers have a concerted, highly credible voice on key environmental issues.
