Sharif A. Mukul

Dr Mukul is an Associate Professor of Environment and Development at United International University in Bangladesh. Additionally, he holds positions as an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the Tropical Forests and People Research Centre, University of the Sunshine Coast in Australia, and an Honorary Research Assistant Professor of Earth and Environment at Florida International University in the USA.

His research focuses on the intricate interplay between ecological, socio-economic, and policy aspects of forest management and biodiversity conservation in tropical regions. With over a decade of experience as a researcher and consultant in natural resources and environmental management, Dr Mukul has made significant contributions to the field. He holds a PhD in Environmental Management from The University of Queensland, Australia, an M.Sc. in Agricultural Development from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and an M.Sc. in Tropical Forestry & Management from Technische Universität Dresden, Germany.

Dr Mukul has an extensive publication record in esteemed international peer-reviewed journals and books. His work has garnered attention from prominent global news outlets such as The New York Times, CNN, Smithsonian Magazine, and Mongabay.com. He also serves on the editorial board of five international journals. Notably, Dr Mukul is a core member of ALERT (Alliance of Leading Environmental Researchers & Thinkers), a distinguished global scientific organization that amplifies the voices of exceptional researchers in addressing crucial environmental issues.
