Dr Saurav KC, Deputy Executive Director at the Center of Research for Environment, Energy, and Water (CREEW) in Kathmandu, Nepal, earned his doctorate in Water Engineering and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, in 2023. Holding a master’s degree in engineering from the same institute, his diverse research interests span groundwater governance, climate change, irrigation engineering, urban-pluvial flooding, and solid waste management. During his time in Thailand, he actively contributed to groundwater resources assessment and governance projects in rapidly urbanizing cities of the Lower Mekong Region, funded by the Stockholm Environment Institute, Asia Center.
Dr Saurav’s expertise extends to authoring articles in peer-reviewed international journals and presenting conference papers on topics such as groundwater resource assessment, governance, urban flooding, climate, and land-use change modeling. With a rich professional background, he has collaborated with government agencies, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Nepal, the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN) Secretariat in Japan, and the Sustainable Mekong Research Network (SUMERNET) Programme in Thailand.
