Sandeep Khare is a professional social worker. He is associated with the Vigyan foundation as Secretary and other civil society groups. He is a member of the Shelter level Monitoring committee of Uttar Pradesh and Smart City Advisory Committee in Lucknow.  He has been working on Homelessness housing & tenurial rights and spaces for urban poor since the last decade.

He is very actively engaged in promotion and strengthening of some national and state level networks of urban poor like – Asangatthit Kaamgar Adhikar Manch, UP; UP Shahri Avaas Evam Adhikar Manch, Shahri Gareeb Sangharsh Morcha and National Forum for Housing Rights. These forums are raising the issues of economic and social security of urban poor at state and national level.

Sandeep has also been associated with Child Rights issues and has engaged with UNICEF, Good Earth Education Foundation, Bharat Gyan Vigyan Samiti, Right to Education Forum, Forum for Creche and Childcare Services and Action against sexual exploitation of children.
