Nheden Amiel D. Sarne

ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity

Mr Nheden Amiel Sarne joined the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity in December 2017 as Programme Specialist – AHP Programme Coordinator. He is responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of ASEAN Heritage Parks Programme, which manages a network of 69 unique protected areas in Southeast Asia. As the Director of the Biodiversity Conservation Division, he is tasked to lead and coordinate the Centre’s activities on the protected and conserved areas management, species conservation, including invasive alien species and ecosystem restoration.

He has substantial experience in socio-economic development planning, policy analysis, project development and implementation as well as natural resource management. Prior to joining ACB, Amiel worked at National Economic and Development Authority – NEDA (now the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development or DEPDev), where he was primarily involved in the review and evaluation of policies, programmes and projects in the agriculture, environment and natural resources sector.
