Dr Arief is a coastal and mangrove researcher; and a lecturer in aquatic resources management in Fisheries Science, and research assistance in Center for Environment and Sustainable Science (CESS). Dr Arief experienced in mangrove and fish pond rehabilitation after the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami in Banda Aceh, served as Mangrove Project Coordinator of Conservation International Indonesia, working with coastal community and NGO. In these 5 years, my research field and study are aquatic environments, ponds, reservoir, and coastal ecosystem in Banda Aceh and West Java. The research approach is by using the geographic information system.
