Md Farhadur Rahman

Assistant Professor, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University

Dr Md Farhadur Rahman is an Assistant Professor at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) in Bangladesh, with a strong academic and research background in forestry, geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, and forest ecology. He completed his BSc in Forestry at the University of Chittagong, followed by an MSc and PhD in Agriculture from Kyoto University, Japan. Dr Rahman specializes in applying machine learning and high-resolution satellite and Lidar data to analyze the effects of natural and human-driven disturbances on forest landscapes. He has worked as a project researcher at Kyoto University on the “Digital Biosphere Project,” which integrates genomic, ecological, and trait data to enhance forest function. His recent publications focus on forest management, conservation, and the impacts of land-use changes, with particular emphasis on deforestation and forest fragmentation in Bangladesh.
