Md. Anwarul Abedin

Bangladesh Agricultural University

Professor and Leader of Laboratory of Environment and Sustainable Development in the Department of Soil Science, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh. Received his PhD from Kyoto University in 2011 in environmental studies and was a JSPS postdoctoral research during 2011-2013 in the same university on international environment and disaster management. Worked as a visiting scholar of Northumbria University, the UK under the theme of disaster management. Have 17 years of teaching and research experience in the field of agriculture and environmental issues viz. environmental impact assessment, community-based adaptations and resilience mapping, climate change and disaster risk reduction, land-use change, community participation. Played lead role for the preparation of National Science and Technology Plan for DRR and Co-lead in Policy review on CCE) and ESD in Bangladesh supported by UNESCO, Paris. Worked as a consultant with IUCN, FAO, JICA and UKRI_GCRF. Dr Abedin is collaborating in a number of research projects funded by DFID, NERC, British Council, JICA, JST, CARRIA, ESRC-UKRI, World Bank, Kurita Foundation, International Science Council.
