Dr Ichii is a skilled research scientist with a doctorate in earth and planetary sciences. He has a strong background in this field as he has 12 years of experience in terrestrial carbon cycle, remote sensing, and earth system modelling. His current major works include integration of various observations and modelling to better understand terrestrial carbon and water cycles in Asia. He has served as vice‐chair of JapanFlux and steering committee member of AsiaFlux and also is experienced in managing projects from conception to completion and working with a range of scientific disciplines under international collaborations.
