Dr. JU Hui has been working in the field of climate change impacts on agriculture for nearly 20 years and is still enthusiastic about building capacity to address the adverse consequences to agricultural production systems. Her work mainly focuses on the impacts of climate change on grain production, exploring adaptive capacity, and conducting risk management options for food security in China. She has been working in areas including crop management, biotic and abiotic stress physiology, grain quality. Dr. JU Hui has close cooperation with other experts in related sectors, such as water resources, ecosystems, and agricultural economy, to work on an integrated assessment of climate change consequences on food security in China. She has also frequently visited rural communities to secure countermeasures on poverty alleviation related to climate change. Dr JU Hui served as the Chapter Coordinator of China National Climate Change Assessment Report from the 2nd (2011) to 4th (2022) and acted as contributor and lead author in IPCC WGII 5th to 6th assessment reports. Her recent works mainly focus on the impacts of climate extremes on food security and risk managements.
