Haroon Khan

The University of Agriculture Peshawar

Dr Haroon Khan is currently working as Deputy Director/ Assistant Professor in Climate Change Centre (CCC), The University of Agriculture Peshawar. He remained a research fellow at The University of Queensland Australia where he worked on operation of CLIMEX software package: Using simulation and modeling techniques, for exploring the relationship between organisms and their climatic environment. Dr. Khan previously worked as Regional Agronomy Manager in Philip Morris International.

He has published 52 research papers (national and international journals), 1 book, 1 book chapter, 6 technical reports and 5 policy briefs. Being an HEC-approved PhD supervisor, he produced 20 (MS/Masters) and 4 PhD students. He participated in more than 35 national and international conferences/workshops. He has also organized 5 national and international conferences.

Developed a rich expertise (over 15 years) on wide range of agriculture, weed management and climate change related issues, with emphasis on mitigation and adaptation technology. Played a key role in the establishing of Climate Change Center, The University of Agriculture Peshawar, Pakistan. Coordinated climate change activities among university, government, research and other institutions at provisional level and contributed to building capacity and public awareness.
