Dhananjay Barman

ICAR-Central Research Institute for Jute and Allied Fibres

Dr Barman is Senior Scientist in Soil Physics with PhD in Agricultural Physics from IARI, New Delhi, with a strong background in remote sensing & GIS application in agriculture, agro-climatology, carbon sequestration and climate change modelling. He is experienced in managing many out funded research projects from conception to completion, funded by ISRO, DST, DAC, RKVY, etc.

Dr Barman has more than 13 years of experience in research and training in Natural Resources Management including weather-based Agroadvisory Services. He also has working experience with Eddy Covariance technique for computing jute ecosystem services, energy balance and carbon sequestration. He has extensively published his research in international peer-reviewed journals.

Dr Barman has been bestowed with Fellowships from ICAR and also the recipient of early career awards such as the Young Scientist Award, Outstanding Scientist Award in Natural Resource Management conferred by different scientific organizations.
