After completing his PhD in 2007 (Disaster Risk and Watershed Management) at Ehime University (Japan), he has worked for various organizations in Japan, including Kyoto University, Yokohama National University, and the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature, Kyoto. He is an Associate Professor at the University of The Ryukyus, Japan. His main research interests include but are not limited to Disaster Resilience, Climate Change Adaptation, Livelihood Security, and Watershed Management.
