Anukul Buranapratheprat

Burapha University

Dr Buranapratheprat focuses on physical and coastal oceanography especially circulation, ocean modelling, water column conditions, land‐sea and air‐sea interactions. He works on circulations using ocean modelling and field observations in the Gulf of Thailand (GoT) for over 15 years already. The studies that he conducts can clarify seasonal variations in circulations and also environmental conditions including eutrophication and red‐tide phenomenon through a coupled circulation ‐ ecosystem model. His recent investigation put emphasis on the influences of South China Sea (SCS) water on GoT water column conditions. The results were — the importance of SCS water which can modify not only water column conditions but also primary productivity and hypoxia in near‐bottom water in GoT.
