Dr. Harini Nagendra, Ramanujan Fellow at the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE), India, and expert member of the APN Capacity Development Committee (CDC), was recently awarded the first Elinor Ostrom Award on Collective Governance of the Commons.

Dr. Nagendra was awarded in the Senior Scholar category, for her “wide diversity of work, her innovation and her use of different methodological approaches, as well as for her active participation as a practitioner on the commons.”

The Award was created to honour and develop the legacy of Elinor Ostrom, 2009 Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences, to acknowledge and promote the work of practitioners, young and senior scholars involved in the field of the commons.
