Conditionally approved new projects for fiscal year 2023 (July 2023 – June 2024)

The 52nd Steering Committee of the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN) took place in Kobe, Japan, from 28-29 June 2023. During the meeting, a total of seventeen (17) proposals were approved, which are listed below. We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the successful proponents this year, and the APN Secretariat will be in touch to discuss the conditions of the award in due course. We sincerely appreciate the interest shown by all proponents in APN and its activities.

Collaborative Regional Research Programme (CRRP)

  6. CRRP2022-FP19-Dey: Comprehensive policy analysis for strategic prioritisation of climate resilient agriculture in the national climate agenda through stakeholder engagement (PAPCRANCA)
  7. CRRP2022-FP21-Nguyen Huy: Developing a new integrated physical-statistical-financial approach for regional flood risk reduction under climate change

  3. CBA2022-FP06-Azhari: Building capacity through co-production in Indonesia and Malaysia to address the climate change communication gap between scientific and lay audiences through journalists
  4. CBA2022-FP08-Singh: Capacity building of the National Meteorological and Hydrological Services in the Southwest Pacific region
  5. ** CBA2022-FP10-Cruz: Building the technical expertise of LGUs for the robust implementation of ridge to reef approach (watershed ecosystem approach) to local and provincial land use and development planning in the Philippines
  6. ** CBA2022-FP11-Harshit: GoAL: Gender oriented adaptive transformation cross-Learning for climate change and disaster risk resilience among India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Japan  
  7. ** CBA2022-FP13-Chachra: Enhancing people’s power for claiming urban climate justice

** The aforementioned proposals have been conditionally approved and require additional compulsory prerequisites. The Secretariat will promptly reach out to the respective proponents within 7 days of this announcement.
