13 April 2015, Kobe, Japan — Dr. Nico Caltabiano, Senior Scientist at CLIVAR (Climate and Ocean: Variability, Predictability and Change) paid a courtesy call to the APN Secretariat Office in Kobe, Japan.
CLIVAR is one of the core projects of the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP), with a mission to understand the dynamics, the interaction, and the predictability of the coupled ocean-atmosphere system by facilitating observations, analysis and predictions of changes in the Earth’s climate system, enabling better understanding of climate variability and dynamics, predictability, and change, to the benefit of society and the environment.
The APN has directly supported CLIVAR activities through CAPaBLE project 2003-CB08-NSY, and more recently through CBA2013-04NSY-WCRP, and indirectly through partnership with many activities under the WCRP umbrella.
