Building Capacity for Reducing Loss and Damage by Natural Hazards: A Guidance Manual for Good Practices

The Centre for Global Sustainability Studies (CGSS), Universiti Sains Malaysia in collaboration with Viet Nam National University, the National University of Laos and the University of Battambang (Cambodia) conducted hands-on training workshops in Malaysia, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia in promoting mitigation and risk reduction measures in dealing with the inevitable cost of disasters in terms of loss and damages to social, economic and environmental assets.

Training resources were collated into a best practice manual entitled “Building Capacity for Reducing Loss & Damage by Natural Hazards: A Guidance Manual for Good Practices”, which can be used to assist in connecting climate impact, vulnerability and adaptation in enhancing capacity to address risks to all interested parties.

The workshops were funded under APN’s Climate Adaptation Framework, grant no. CAF2014-CD03-NMY-Ibrahim/CAF2015-CD03-CMY-Ibrahim.
