APN Secretariat visits UNU-IAS

30 October 2018, Tokyo, Japan – APN Secretariat visited the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) in Tokyo on 30 October 2018 to further discuss how to strengthen engagement between APN and UNU-IAS in terms of supporting capacity building for young researchers and postgraduate students through internships and fellowships.

The courtesy visit was followed by a short award ceremony to recognize the successful completion of an APN internship by APN Fellow, Mr. Effendi Tandoko who is also currently an MSc Sustainability student at UNU-IAS.

Mr. Tandoko will present the outputs of the synthesis work he conducted as an APN fellow at the Workshop on Status of Climate Science and Technology in Asia – for IPCC AR6 being organized by the Asian Network on Climate Science and Technology on 15-16 November 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The synthesis work conducted by Mr. Tandoko reviewed the extent that APN projects completed during 2013-2018 have contributed to the targets of Sustainable Development Goals and Paris Agreement, as well potential contribution to the upcoming IPCC AR6. The final synthesis report will be published by the end of the year.
