Transdisciplinary (TD) approaches are increasingly recognised as essential for addressing complex sustainability challenges, particularly those requiring collaboration across disciplines, sectors and knowledge systems. However, the availability, structure and delivery of TD education, training and capacity-building initiatives across Asia remain uneven and are not yet systematically documented.
The survey seeks information on courses, training programmes, workshops, modules and other learning initiatives that contribute to developing transdisciplinary capacities. Initiatives do not need to explicitly use the term “transdisciplinary” to be relevant. Responses will help identify current practices, gaps and opportunities and inform future approaches to strengthening TD capacity building across Asia.

Participation is voluntary, and responses will be kept confidential and reported only in aggregate or anonymised form. Further information on participation, data management and withdrawal is provided in the survey.
The survey is undertaken as part of the GAIA Project (CBA2025-03MY-Lambino), supported by the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN), and hosted by the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN) and Future Earth Asia.
