Wardah Tahir

Prof Dr Wardah Tahir is a director and lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia. She received her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering at Cornell University, USA, in 1990. She later received her Master of Science in Water Resources Tech. & Management from Birmingham University in 1998 and was awarded Doctor of Philosophy (Civil Engineering), majoring in Hydro-meteorological Flood Forecasting at University Teknologi Mara in 2008. She is a professor of water resources and environmental systems with more than 25 years of experience in education and academic management while pursuing as a skilled researcher in flood modeling and forecasting focusing on meteorological satellite and radar application. Prof Wardah has a vast experience in management through the various posts held while actively involved in research and publication with more than 80 publications, including journals and books. She has also conducted numerous research projects in flood disaster management, design flood estimation, hydrodynamic flood modeling, simulation and forecasting for more than 15 years via national and institutional research grants provided. She has also been involved in numerous consultancy projects with industries in water management, water quality, and sustainable environment. Additionally, as a radar rainfall analyst, she is currently involved with developing the National Flood Forecasting and Warning System from 2018 to the present. She has also received more than 15 national and international awards related to flood control design and invention, including the INPEX Excellent Award (USA), the Excellent Scientist Award (Ministry of Higher Education), the Special Award (Geneva) and the Gold Award (ITEX Malaysia).
