Dr Pham is a Macquarie University Research Fellow (MQRF) working on wetlands monitoring in Australia using remote sensing and geoinformatics. He received his MSc and PhD from the University of Tsukuba, Japan, under the JICA and the Japanese Government Scholarships, respectively. Dr Pham completed his postdoctoral fellowship from the RIKEN Centre for Advanced Intelligence Project (AIP) in Japan and then a 12-month Fellowship at Florida International University (FIU) in the United States. During his stay at RIKEN and FIU, he applied machine learning algorithms to interpret remotely sensed imagery – achieving a breakthrough in wetlands inventory and monitoring.
