Land Use/Management Change and Trace Gas Emissions in East Asia

This project included three workshops (including two model training sessions for capacity building) and aimed to estimate trace greenhouse gas (CH4 and N2O) emissions from agricultural land. It successfully developed a trace gas flux database in East and Southeast Asia. The strength of this project was its successful interactive link between the trace gas emissions and land use and land management database. This project brought together scientists collecting trace gas data from the field, remote sensing specialists, and biogeochemical modellers, who had seldom worked together thus far. Two articles were published (a third is pending) and at least five young scientists advanced in their professional development.
