Building Asian Climate Change Scenarios by Multi-Regional Climate Models Ensemble

Facing the fact that high resolution projection of regional climate change is required for impact, vulnerability and adaptation studies, this project coupled multiple RCMs with one GCM in order to produce high-confidence regional climate change projection. The project aims to meet the urgent needs of accurate regional climate change information by the impact and assessment community. In addition, this project is an extension and continuation of the Regional climate Modelling Intercomparison Project (RMIP) for Asia, which has been operated under the support of APN. Based on the successful completion of RMIP, the project “Building Asian Climate Change Scenarios by Multi-Regional Climate Models Ensemble” was set to build high resolution climate change scenarios for Asia for 2040–2070 using the outputs of regional climate models, and to develop the envelope analysis of ensemble for Asian regional climate projection with the full evaluation and assessment of uncertainty.
