The project “Special issue on linking climate change adaptation (CCA), disaster risk reduction (DRR), and loss and damage (L&D)” addresses the interconnected challenges of climate change in the Asia-Pacific region. The COVID-19 pandemic affected the project, leading to an extension that allowed for more comprehensive collaboration. The final publication compiles case studies from various APN projects, offering insights into CCA, DRR, and L&D across multiple countries, including Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and more.
The project brought together experts through virtual and in-person workshops, fostering collaboration and peer review to enhance the quality of research. The resulting publication, “Linking Climate Change Adaptation, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Loss & Damage,” edited by Vositha Wijenayake and others, has been published by Palgrave Macmillan Singapore.
The project has significantly contributed to understanding the synergies and trade-offs between CCA, DRR, and L&D, aiming to inform policy and practice at local, national, and regional levels. Promotional activities included video interviews and presentations at COP27 and COP28, further amplifying the project’s impact and reach.
