Project Final Report: CBA2019-05SY-Do

Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries are severely affected by climate change. Development of renewable energy from livestock wastes (production of electricity from biogas) is a solution due to their high proportion of livestock in the economy. The overall objective of this project is to strengthen the capacity for social communities in producing renewable energy from livestock wastes (PREW) to adapt climate change, toward green growth. To achieve the overall objective, the project is designed into three main modules: (1) Module 1: Evaluating public awareness of global change issues and renewable energy production from livestock wastes with adaptation to climate change (including governmental agencies, private companies and communities), identifying communication needs and capacity building; (2) Module 2: Organizing training courses of renewable energy from livestock wastes to adapt to climate change for the stakeholders (farmers, agencies, researchers, teachers, students); and (3) Module 3: Developing a policy brief and disseminating it to policy – making bodies (at sectorial and national levels) to promote the production of renewable energy from livestock wastes, then organizing workshops to inform policy implications to policymakers, academics, universities and other stakeholders.
