This policy brief discusses the importance of integrating NAPs, NDCs and the SDGs towards coherent policy planning and implementation in highly vulnerable developing countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. Based on the gaps and needs analyses conducted, a number of recommendations were developed in order for these countries in South Asia to better manage climate risks and adapt to climate change impacts. Capacity gaps and coordination between different agencies as well as local and national government, lack of technical expertise for assessing climate risks, and limited data availability have emerged as major challenges for comprehensive risk management and adaptation action.
