This workshop follows the 1st Global Water System Project (GWSP)-Asia meeting held in Kyoto in 2005. The objective of the meeting was to compile and summarize the existing knowledge related to the cumulative impacts of dams and megacities in Asia on the global water system. Nearly 40 participants from 12 countries attended the workshop. As an integral part of the GWSP network, GWSP-Asia has already started its activities and has amplified the work of the GWSP, which has contributed to GWSP Water Atlas on the indicator work and global dam effort.
