Optimization strategies for the management of change in coastal zones and inland waters caused by Salinity Intrusion

Changes in coastal zones and adjacent waters, caused by extraction of water and resulting salinity intrusion has been a problem in some countries and is an emerging problem in many others. Managing such changes and related quality degradation of water in coastal zones necessitates tools and information. As this is a global phenomena and management strategy varies from location to location here it is envisaged to develop an universally applicable model that would as an out put give policy makers the optimal management strategy for managing both the water body as well as the socio-economic trends in the areas concerned.
