6 October 2026, Online – The 62nd Steering Committee (SC) Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN) was held online, bringing together national Focal Points, Scientific Planning Group members, donor representatives and the Secretariat.
The meeting opened with remarks from Dr Douglas Hill, Chairperson of the SC, and Mr Toshiyuki Yamasaki, Director of the Secretariat.
The SC confirmed action points from the 60th and 61st SC Meetings, reviewed the roles and responsibilities of SC members, and confirmed key activities planned for FY2026. Members also shared information on possible engagement with national delegations at UNFCCC COP31.
Under any other business, members discussed the role of the SC in supporting implementation of the approved Fundraising Plan, including information sharing and possible in-kind support and partnership opportunities. The Chair thanked the members for their participation and closed the meeting.
