Mr Ryuji Tomisaka joined APN as the Director of the Secretariat on 5 October 2022.

Mr Tomisaka joined the Ministry of Environment, Government of Japan, in 1993, since which he has served in the following positions: Director, Office of Environmental Management of Enclosed Coastal Seas, Water Environment Division, Environmental Management Bureau, Ministry of the Environment; JICA Specialist (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Vietnam); Director, Environmental Information Office, General Affairs Division, Minister’s Secretariat, Ministry of the Environment; Deputy Director, PCB Treatment Business Department, Japan Environmental Storage & Safety Corporation; Director, Environmental Radioactivity Office, Environmental Inspection Division, Secretary-General’s Secretariat, The Secretariat of the Nuclear Regulation Authority; and Director General, Planning Department, National Institute for Environmental Studies, among others, prior to taking up his current position from October 2022.
