Yong-Kwon Song graduated from the Sol Price School of Public Policy, University of Southern California. Having been working in the Ministry of Environment of Republic of Korea for 18 years, he has a diverse career in public services spanning from chemical safety management, water industry promotion, nature conservation to the planning and budget of the Ministry. Recently, serving as director of water cooperation division, he facilitated several international water-related projects, such as integrated water management in Mekong region, smart water management pilot project and establishment of flood prevention & early-warning system. Since Jan 2022, he is heading the division of international cooperation, which aims to promote partnerships with international community to jointly address global environmental challenges, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and trans-boundary pollution.
