Yegor Volovik

Northwest Pacific Action Plan

Dr. Yegor Volovik brings wide-ranging knowledge and skills from more than 25 years of progressively responsible management and technical experience in marine and freshwater water resources, environment, climate change, climate risk, and disaster risk management. Specific areas of expertise are ecosystem-based management, regional ocean governance, establishment and functioning of Multilateral Environmental Agreements and Intergovernmental Mechanisms, MEA (e.g., the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea, Northwest Pacific), integrated water resource management and planning, climate change, and climate risk management, disaster risk reduction, various aspects of informational support and knowledge management. He is a long-term UN staff member, having worked with several UN agencies (UNOPS, UNDP, UNICEF, UNEP) since 2002. Currently, Yegor is the Coordinator of the UNEP-administered Northwest Pacific Action Plan. He holds a Ph.D. from the Institute of Program Systems of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He is an author/co-author of over 50 monographs and publications.
