Dr Tserendulam Shagdarsuren currently serves as Advisor at the UNCCD COP17 Preparatory Office within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia. Prior to this role, she was Director General of the Climate Change Department at the Ministry of Environment and Tourism from 2022, where she played a key role in formulating and implementing Mongolia’s national climate change policies and international climate commitments. She also held several leadership positions at the Authority for Fair Competition and Consumer Protection (AFCCP) of Mongolia, including Head of the Consumer Protection Department, since 2016. From 2006, she served as Executive Director of the Mongolian Association of Urban Centers, where she led numerous initiatives on urban development and sustainability.
Dr Tserendulam has extensive experience in climate change cooperation with international organisations and climate finance institutions. Her research background includes a strong focus on urban health, particularly in the context of sustainable urban planning and public health resilience. Her published work explores the intersection of urban planning, environmental health, and climate adaptation in Mongolia, contributing to both national policy dialogues and academic discourse.
